Encanto: We Do Not Talk About Bruno

When Encanto came out, suddenly, all of my social media were bursting to tell me about it. To avoid spoilers, I watched it and now I want to talk about it with you.

Quick Summary~

Encanto takes place in Columbia featuring the amazing Madrigals. Everyone in the family has a superpower except Abuela and Mirabel. Mirabel does summarize her family quite well in this song:

The Family Madrigal

Tonight is when Antonio will get his gift and everyone is excited. Mirabel sees cracks in their casita and tries to warn the family but they won’t listen. She needs to hurry because the magic is fading. So she seeks out her estranged uncle, Bruno hoping his power to see the future may help.

Final Thoughts

Just like the Incredibles, their powers reflect each family member so well and I love it. I could see a sequel where Abuela dies and Mirabel must carry on the candles but honestly? I don’t see this movie needing a sequel. They have given enough context to speculate what would happen. I think we will get shorts with Bruno’s rat novellas.
