Kiss Him, Not Me: She’s Just Not Into You

Hello people, who may or may not like comic con, this review is for you. Check out my take on Kiss Him Not Me!

Oh, my goodness. Where to start with this beauty? Kiss Him Not Me–in my opinion– brings a new twist to classic reverse harem animes. I rated it a 9/10 on and I remember loving every minute of it. I started this on a relaxing night in my dorm.

What is it about?

It starts with death. Or rather the death of a fictional character leading to Kae to lose an immense amount of weight out of grief. After a bit of time in isolation, she immerges from her room looking like a completely different person. No one at school really recognizes her. Kae finds herself suddenly surrounded by many attractive young men wanting to be with her.

What I liked about Kiss Him Not Me:

  • The comedy. I was laughing the entire time.
  • The consistency of the characterization
  • character growth
  • classic reverse harem tropes being broken on some occasions (they put a twist to this that is pretty beautiful)
  • having another girl as part of the harem (it’s different)
  • Black butler references are always appreciated
  • comic con episode

Why not a 10?

Honestly, I’m not entirely sure why I didn’t rate this a ten. Probably because I didn’t want to be too high on the average score for this anime. However, I did really enjoy this one. It gave me a “Skip Beat!” vibe which is another one of my favorite animes.* I loved the messages put out by this anime.
